Thanksgiving Week: The Greatest Week to Sell

Thanksgiving week is the single greatest sales week of the year! Yes– you heard that right! Although this may seem counterintuitive since it’s typically a short week for most, customer receptiveness to sales reps actually tends to peak at this time of the season. Why?

  1. Almost everyone is in the office! Because it’s a short work week, even frequent travelers are off the roads and at their desks.
  2. Most people’s moods are lighter and more jovial. Thanksgiving marks the unofficial start to “the most wonderful time of the year.” People are consumed with the warmth and laughter of family and friends, not to mention a long four-day weekend. This tends to put people in a good mood—making them more receptive to your calls!
  3. TURKEY! Most everyone celebrates Thanksgiving the same way– feasting around the table with family and friends. This gives you some common ground to begin your conversation with your customer.

There is no better time than Thanksgiving to reach out to your customers and let them know how much you appreciate them. So make sure you take advantage of it this Monday and Tuesday by giving your customers a call! You’ll find that a simple phone call at Thanksgiving can make a great impact on the health of your customer relationships, and you might even be surprised by the amount of business you’ll write in your books!
